About us

Personnel Touch has been in business for over 13 years now, specialising in the concrete construction and building industry. From day one, our approach has been very simple: focus on people, build strong partnerships, and physically show up where the work is. We’re not just another labour hire company — we’ve always believed that if we look after our people properly, with real career pathways, solid pastoral care, and meaningful upskilling, then everything else follows — better retention, stronger teams, and ultimately, better outcomes for the companies we work with.

Our area managers spend most of their time out on site. That visibility means we’re accessible to both our teams and the clients we support. We get to see firsthand who’s excelling, who needs support, and we’re able to step in early to solve issues before they become problems. It also gives us the chance to help shape the culture on site — celebrating wins, recognising effort, and encouraging leadership at all levels. That’s something we’re extremely proud of.

We set up where the work is! A great example is the Kaikōura earthquake. Just weeks afterwards, we were on the ground, helping get labour organised for the rebuild. We didn’t just parachute in and out — we got involved with the local community, hired locals, and built relationships that are still going strong today. Some of the people who started with us there are still with us now, while others have moved on to leadership roles across different construction firms around the country. That’s something we take a lot of pride in.

We’re not a company that’s loud about what we do — most of our work has come through word of mouth and reputation over the last decade. What sets us apart is that we’re not just a supplier — we get out there on the coal face, we’re part of the projects, and we’re there until the job is done. We’ve kept the business family-oriented, with strong family values that haven’t changed as we’ve grown.

We’re also well known for stepping into projects in hard-to-service areas — places where logistics, accommodation, and workforce retention can be a challenge. We know that working away from home can take a toll, so we make a big effort to support our team with housing, vehicles, and a regular presence on the ground. Some of our team thrive in those environments, and we do our best to make that experience a positive one.

In Wellington specifically, we’ve helped tackle a real shortage of local skilled workers. A big part of that has been our commitment to providing housing and transport for our staff. Ride-sharing, company vehicles, and local accommodation have made a big difference — not just for our workers, but for the contractors relying on them. It’s made projects more efficient and more financially viable for everyone involved.

We also have a strong community presence. We sponsor a number of local sports teams, and we’ve created real employment pathways through those connections. Our partnership with BCITO has helped fast-track training and qualifications, and we’re seeing more and more people joining the industry through referrals from friends and family who’ve had a good experience with us.

At the end of the day, yes — we are a labour hire business. But we believe we’re much more than that. We help get major projects over the line, but we’re also focused on building careers, growing culture, and enjoying the journey while we do it. We’ve expanded into different regions around New Zealand, but we’ve never lost sight of what got us here — a people-first approach, local leadership, and an unwavering commitment to providing the best service to both our clients and our staff.
